Campus wayfinding
One address. A great many doors.
Turn-by-turn gets you to The Vic. It cannot get you to the door — the right entrance, the right dock, the right lot. This does, and it works on the phone already in your hand.
The problem
Every tenant here shares one street address.
The public basemap does not close the gap either. The main building carries no entrance data at all, so there is nothing in it that could route anyone to a suite, a loading dock, or a fire lane. Nobody has ever put those facts in.
How it works
Tell it why you came, and it picks the right door.
A business is not one place. The door a visitor wants, the dock a driver wants and the lot you can actually park in are three different points, and each business gets to publish all of them.
Say why you're here
Visiting, delivering, parking, after hours, or needing step-free entry. One tap, and it is skippable — ignore it and you get the visitor entrance.
Park, then walk
Where the parking and the door are not the same place, you get both legs: drive to the lot, then walk the rest with the route drawn for you.
Point it and look
Hold the phone up and an arrow tracks the entrance through the camera, with the distance counting down. No compass? The map still works. No signal for either? Written directions still do.
Detours, while they last
Dock closed for resurfacing, entrance moved for construction. A business posts the detour with the date it lifts, so the map cannot quietly go stale.
Status
In build.
The last-hundred-metres piece is already proven on this campus — a single-tenant version has been guiding people to a door in Building 1 for months. What is being built now is the rest: every tenant, and pins that campus staff can move themselves instead of a developer editing code.
